Photoshoot

Another day with another few shots taken. I was a bit surprised when opening the shots taken at ISO1600. EOS 400D is ranged in the amatuer category and it’s getting to be an old-timer. I’m dreaming of updating my camera body, but I’m in the process of uprooting and as much as I’d like this will have to wait.

I’ll post a few of the shots I’ve processed (my post-processing skills are still a work in progress), but I’m rather satisfied. Technical details under each shot.

First of several shots from that night. This is the only one I’ve processed. EOS 400D, 70-300 IS USM.

I’ll update with EXIF info when I get back to my original.

This is one type of shooting I’m very inexperienced with.

Action photography. This would be so much better with a real studio setup where I could control the lighting and if I’d had some high speed flash to capture the action. Instead I’m using high ISO, low aperture (50mm f1.8) and no flash. That in mind I’m actually pleased with the outcome. The cat is blurred but only enough to make it apparent it’s in “strike-mode”.

“There’s something up there that I want!”

As for the technical part, this was shot under the same premise as the shot above. Would have been much better with a “studio setup” and at least two flashguns with softboxes lighting her up.

I’m not sure how I like cutting her back-end off, but not much I can do about it now anyways.

This one I really like! It’s shot using the same premise as those above. It’s technically soft because of the high ISO and not high enough shutterspeed.

I really need to get myself a simple studio setup and hopefully at least two flashguns. I have most of what I need for standard lights, but I desperatly want some flashguns :-|

Economy here I come :)
