Another day, another dollar and some movie stuff

Getting to the end of another day, and I’m beat. Seems I far more enjoy the days where there is stuff happening, as oposed to the days where nothing really happens. Tired? Yes, but on the days where there’s been lots to do it’s just so much better to crawl into bed with a great tired feeling.

I wanted to write a bit about a couple of movies I’ve seen, and I’ll start by writing a bit about G.I. Joe. This has to be one of the best action movies I’ve seen in a long time! I watch a lot of movies and I seem to disagree with a lot of the “critics”. Can’t even remember the last time I decided to watch/not watch a movie, based on it’s review. I always feel it’s best to watch it and make up one’s own mind.

OK! The plot in the movie is nothing new. Basically, it’s the same as it’s been just about every action release in the last decade. What’s so spectacular about this movie is the direction and the special visual effects. As I’ve written earlier I’m a huge sci-fi fan and futuristic film fan. I can’t really call this sci-fi, but some probably would.

The director (Stephen Sommers) has some brilliant ideas about a big movie. This is non-stop action from the first moment. I sat down not knowing really what to expect (having never read a G.I. Joe comic), and was breathtaken. Action, action and to top it of, more action. Well worth to see in my honest opinion, but you really should make up your own mind.

On another note, I’d suggest looking into Rodney Carrington (YouTube link), if you’re into stand up comedy. This is some of the best material I’ve seen in a very long time. In fact, it’s the best since I first found Stephen Lynch. NOTE! Much of his material is really NSFW! It’s best to view this in the comfort of your own home.

Here’s one of his songs:

I’ve been very lazy in updating, but started getting better :)

Had a look at anothermovieguide.com as well, and really liked it. I’ll be looking in on that site a lot in the future!
